| Real Live Tigers - This is Sometimes a Riverbed
This is Sometimes a Riverbed is a loose concept album exploring themes of mental health and the cycle of emotions-- how sometimes one can be full up with drunk wonder and productivity, brimming with hope and beauty, and how that river can run dry. It's about friends, and how we help each other. It's about coming home from the war and marrying your first true love, about the kindness of strangers and never-ending trust in other human-beings.
The songs are like dreams, shimmering moments so lucid they're almost painful. There is so much beauty and meaning lying right here at our feet, in riverbeds and in our bones.
this is the first thing we've had done in large quantities by a factory worker. they'll be here soon. they'll be in hand-screenprinted cardboard sleeves. by far my favorite recording this year.
1. This is sometimes a riverbed
2. Yes, still
3. A song for J.M.
4. Beard of bees
5. Other lives
6. Winter blues no. 1 (Spring is found!)
7. Since life got easy
8. On our way
9. Flood plains
10. Riverbeds
11. What this world is for

fire island AK - Songs in Night
fire island, AK is Thomas B. He lives in South Carolina and Alaska and other places. I'm not even sure right now. He runs Blank Tapes and Records. This collection is 18 new songs that are so hard to pin down into a place or a time, much as it seems he himself is. There is a broad mixture of instruments and recording techniques, songs sung with so much soul and introspection, but then seemingly tossed off effortlessly. Much of the recording is live, but rarely sounds like. it's weird and truly remarkable. I love it, and am really happy and proud to get to put it out. $5.

Milly Geronimo & the Blanket Truth - Winter Songs
Global Warming or no, it is a bizarre fact that a january ice storm can inundate and erase so much leftover summer joy in the middle of america while, simultaneously, coastal north carolina and sunny california feel the warmest sunny rays of the season. a split cd-r of opposing approaches given opposing locations. 6 new songs of winter focus. milly geronimo of illinois faces the mystery and danger of winter with 3 story songs about long underwear and feeling cold. The Blanket Truth of california offers a guitar/synthesizer/drum machine sense of optimism in the face of cold weather and strange feelings. comes in hand-silk screened and crafted paper envelope with a sturdy insert and ample snowflakes.

cassingle - octagon island & psbcc
This is the final cassingle. it is two songs from two chicago pop makers. After a full-length cassette on Carpet the Sun and a Full-Length cd-r on Sanitary, The ERE evolved into Octagon Island, adding a computer and more singing. Paul's Sad Bastard Chicken Coop is Paul Quarry, and has created a deep and textured pop anthem that nicely closes the cassingle series. Orange cassettes in a screenprinted box. chickens and kittens.

cassingle - partisan
a collection of two long-winded 5-minute dirges from one of my favorite Milwaukee bands in forever. Partisan was kind enough to take part in a growing and almost over-with series, and I'm so excited that these are ready. sleeved in a hand-printed scroll crafted by Partisan, and tied with twine, these are clear brown tapes with brown words on them.

Grumpy Bear & Sleepynaut - Blande on Blande
These 12 new jams from two excellent bands have been swirling in my house every afternoon this month. following closely on the heels of their insanely genius split with Boo Hiss on tract records, Grumpy Bear crafts 6 more songs of loathing and longing. Sleepynaut is new to me, but long overdue in my cd player. dancing like 1983, shivering with flu-like symptoms, weird times at ridgemont high. 12 new jams from the weird open spaces of arizona and elsewhere. packaged in low-fidelity hand-made & screenprinted digipaks. our most ambitious packaging project yet.
